Job Title:
Italian Instructor
Overview:
The Italian Cultural Center of San Diego is seeking a dynamic and passionate Italian Instructor to teach adult learners in an engaging and communicative environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in language instruction, a strong understanding of adult learning principles, and the ability to create a supportive and immersive classroom experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver interactive and engaging language lessons tailored to adult learners.
Use a communicative and student-centered approach to language teaching.
Provide constructive feedback to students.
Develop and adapt instructional materials to meet students’ needs.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Integrate cultural elements into lessons to enhance language acquisition.
Utilize a variety of teaching methods, including technology-based tools.
Participate in teacher meetings, professional development, and curriculum planning.
Qualifications and Skills:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Education, or a related field.
Previous experience teaching adults in a classroom or online setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt lessons to different proficiency levels.
Native or near-native proficiency in Italian, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in English may also be required.
Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in a related field.
Experience with digital learning platforms and interactive tools.
The ability to teach in person in the San Diego area.
Salary Range is $45 – $50/hour dependent on candidate’s qualifications and skills. Position is part-time. Benefits include flexible schedule.
