Patrizia Lissoni
Patrizia Lissoni was born in a small town, Cassina de’ Pecchi, on the outskirt of Milan. In Italy, she studied at the Catholic University in Milan where she received her degree in Special Education. In the US, she studied at the University of California Los Angeles, where she received her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in Italian. She has also pursued advanced studies at the University of Birmingham, UK. Patrizia’s professional career spans over decades, with significant experience in both Italy and the United States. In Italy, she served the Italian Ministry of Public Education in various roles, including special education, and school cultural exchange programs. Since relocating to the U.S., she has taught all levels of Italian at several colleges and institutions in California, among them the Italian Cultural Institute in Los Angeles, El Camino College, California State University Long Beach, and held academic positions, including Assistant Instructor of Teaching of Italian at Pepperdine University and Adjunct Professor of Italian at Point Loma Nazarene University. Patrizia has contributed extensively to the development and assessment of Italian language exams, including leadership roles in the AP Italian Exam Content Development Team and the AATI National Italian Examination. Patrizia joined ICC in 2021, and she is excited to share her passion for her native language and culture with her students.
